CONSUMERS
Below are actual examples of monitored geothermal heat pump systems that are installed in the homes of consumers located throughout central Pennsylvania. In each case a separate sub-metered panel has been installed so that all of the energy used and only that energy used for heating and cooling is metered.
These homes range in size from 1,500 to 4,500 square feet plus their basements.
A projection was made for each consumer estimating energy usage for heating during an average 6178 degree day winter and for cooling during a typical central Pennsylvania summer.
The figures in the degree day column are based upon monthly degree day data as provided by the Pennsylvania State University Weather Station and are the monthly totals for each of the twelve months following the month of installation, as for example, April 1996 through March 1997 (Carrello) or December 1995 through November 1996 (Wood).
